What Do I Know of Holy?

I heard this song the other day and it really spoke to me. It's about putting together the head knowledge that you know God, with the heart knowledge of knowing God and having a relationship with him.

Words like "I tried to hear from Heaven, but I talked the whole time" hit home. I know God, but what do I know of holy?

Proverbs 20:25--"It is a trap for a man to say rashly, 'It is holy!' and after the vows to make inquiry."

Talk about your God-incidences! We just talked about this verse a day or so ago. As humans, even as Christians, we are sometimes bold when we should be humble. Thinking we are wise, yet still rather impoverished.

God's Word certainly doesn't say that we should sit idle. We are encouraged to continue to live a Christlike life with each day we are given. But to think that we might ever come close to "Holy"--fully and completely understanding God....

He is "I AM" for a reason.

The more I grow and learn the more I realize I am so far away from where I need and long to be. God continually works on my heart and mind...I am reminded daily of my need to be submerged in HIS presence!

Blessings and prayers, andrea

I love your post today! It's a gentle reminder to always be in God's presence. I find I am a lot more happier there.

"I think I made you too small." Such a great line. I love Addison Road, but I've never heard this song. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I love this song:) I never knew who it was by and looked and looked and couldn't find it. What a blessing to find out who sings it. The words so speak to my heart!

I am truly humbled after listening to that song Kelly.

What powerful lyrics and I have never heard it before. It kind of puts it all in perspective doesn't it?
Thank you for sharing this stunning song.

One of the things I love about this meme is that I can watch God use music to minister to people using the same song is such different ways and at different times. I posted about this song about 2 months ago during a very difficult time, and now here it is again. It was a good reminder of where I was in that time and where he has brought me to now.

Great choice!
