Don't stop thinking about tomorrow,
don't stop, it will soon be here.
It'll be better than before.
Yesterday's gone. Yesterday's gone!
Don't Stop, Fleetwood Mac, 1977
I have a past. I have alot of things in my background I'm not proud of. I'm sure I could make many Christians shutter with tales of my sinful life. But that sinful life is a testimony to God's grace. God's love has changed my life and I will never be the same again!
Looking at my background, I have two choices. I can continue to condemn myself and never be one of God's workers, because I'm not good enough. Or, I can think about the person I am now, and use that past history as my testimony.
The devil accuses me, and makes me embarrassed of my past, and not want to share it. But Jesus says, "Yesterday's gone. Yesterday's gone!" So I won't stop thinking about tomorrow. It WILL be better than before!
Fleetwood Mac's song, simply echoes the words of Paul, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13,14.
Forgetting what is behind...yesterday's gone! Straining toward what is ahead...don't stop thinking about tomorrow!
Don't let your past hold you back. Yesterday's gone. Look forward to tomorrow, and celebrate today. God loves you and has a plan for your life. Don't stop!

Thanks for this post, Kelly.
I have a past too. It never fails, when I have a victory in Christ, almost on cue, someone or something will come along and try to bring me down and stomp on me. I know this is the enemy trying to play with my mind. We do have to remember to let the past go - “yesterday’s gone” - and move forward. God has forgiven, so we must also forgive ourselves.
Thanks for your wonderful post.
I think that's one of Satan's favorite darts to shoot. Because getting stung with the Past arrow brings back REGRET. And regret is like a virus whose symptoms aren't easily treatable!
But God truly can heal us if we pray for strength and new vision. Christ has already done the work of saving us from sin's consequences, so we need to ask for forgiveness for ourselves and move on...."for the Day is coming" and we want to be serving Him and ready!
Thank you for the reminder that the past is just that.. the past and the present is where we are at with our Lord.
We are new creations.. the "old has gone and the new has come!"
Beautiful Kelly! The enemy is relentless, trying to win us back with his lies and accusations... That old shame and blame game!
I heard a great quote yesterday: Shame looks down; worry looks around; faith looks up! Simple but true. Not only can we look up, but we can look forward with the confidence that God has pursued our hearts from day one and calls us beloved!
We are crowned with glory as his children....daughters of the king!
