"I'm leaving on a jetplane, don't know when I'll be back again."
John Denver sang those lyrics, but it's me who is leaving today. I'm heading to Atlanta to the SCORRE Conference (formerly known as the Dynamic Communicators Conference). I'm excited to learn ways to better my speaking ministry to the glory of God.
At the same time, I'm nervous. Attending SCORRE will be published authors, publishing executives, professionals...and then there will be me. A housewife. A housewife who dabbles in writing and speaking for the Lord. I could feel out-classed. Yet, I am taking a step of faith. Because God says I am worthy, because of him.
What step of faith are you taking today? When the world says "You're not good enough," but God says "I am more than enough through you," - keep going! I am not an executive. But I am a daughter of the highest authority, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I'd say that is pretty impressive.
I can't wait to see what God has in store for me this week! In the meantime, I'll be taking the rest of the week off from blogging while I'm at the conference. You can keep up with me this week two ways. Either follow me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/kellycombs
or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ChattyKelly.
So, what will you be doing this week?

Hope you have an absolute blast! And don't you dare be intimidated by the others there. I've been to several such conferences and I know how that can be. But just know that God has something special for YOU there. And everyone had to get started in their journey some time; everyone has a first time. I know God will do great things through this conference. Those have been some of my most life-changing times. Let me know how it goes!
Awesome that you are going to this conference! I often feel inadequate too, and I am inspired by people like you who push through that inadequacy in order to be obedient to Christ.
What am I doing this week? In addition to writing my regular blog posts, I am focusing on writing a recipe devotional as a fundraiser for a mission trip at my church. Need 30 total, and I'm about halfway there. Then, I get to lay it out, print it & assemble it.
What is a recipe devotional, Kari? Sounds neat! I hope you got all your work done.
Kay, it was phenomenal! The best conference ever. Highly recommend.
It's a recipe book with devotions. Doing it to help raise money for a group from my church going to Bulgaria in July. Devotions are all food/neal/feast, etc. related. It's coming along quite well.
