Snow Day Fun!

We got alittle snow in Virginia this weekend!

Well, okay, more than a little. How about over a foot of snow!

The big dog LOVES the snow. The little dog hates the snow. Wouldn't you if it were over your head?

Every time Gigi heads out, Annie the dog goes along. Gigi went once without Annie, and Annie stood and the front door barking until Gigi came back for her. Ah, puppy love.

All this snow makes a good opportunity to mix up some snow cream.

With sprinkles!

Then I mixed up some dip (cream cheese and rotel tomatoes) for the kids to snack on with tortilla chips. They love dip. Me too!

Then I mixed up a pot of chili, (and some cornbread). Yes, I was in full cooking mode. I also did two loads of laundry and ran the dishwasher, did a craft with Cici, read all my magazines, wrote two examiner articles, and this blog post. And that was on Saturday. The kids will probably be out of school several days with the snow. What will I do???

Winter wonderland! Hope you're having a happy Monday. Devotionals will start back once the kids go back to school.

Psalm 51: 7 -- wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Chili looks good! We had a roast over the weekend, otherwise I would have had a crockpot thing happening. I'm just concerned that the next snow days home will not be as enjoyable as the first days home. Keep in touch!

We had ice day in SC! Lucky you! I tried to upload some pics and the computer didn't cooperate--oh well!

The chili looks yummy! I know y'all enjoyed that snow cream as well. Do you have any food coloring? Let the girls design pictures using the coloring on the snow. Just a few drops, and you have trees, flowers, houses, etc. Have fun!

Hugs!

My husband and I have thought about moving to Virgina.
We've been New Yorkers (the state) all of our lives, but we might have to rethink this. :)

As a kid we would make snow cream alot. My dad would say "if you want some extra flavor grab a little yellow snow with it." (ha,ha)

Enjoy the snow!

Sounds so fun! And looks beautiful too!

We had ice and are still out of school today.

Our snow/ice day activities have been:
Put pictures into computer
Sled down our drive.
Watch movies
Had left over vegetable chili but not enough for all of us. I also had left over vegetable soup, but alsop not enough, so.....I created veggie chili soup! Yummy!
Another thing I'm doing is having a visual mystery contest over at my blog this week. Wanna come see it?

Supermom!! I picture you in a pink cape right now.

Wow! Reminds me of Michigan, but we did not get this snow up here. Just the cold temps. Don't send it my way. Will it down to Florida, they need a little fun down there.

We're so used to snow in the northeast, it's gets boring. But not this year. You got our share!

Nothing like kids to make the snow such fun.

I'd love a snow day soon. Could use a break from the running around. I'd love a pj day.

You need to get a sled for the big dog. Then the daughter can go fetch groceries.
I've asked this before. But what time is lunch being served? Homemade chilli and cornbread. MMM MM!
Is it sweet cornbread? And Real butter. MMMMMM! Butter.

Wow, Kelly, I'm heading over to YOUR house! You've certainly had some productive snow days, girl. LOVE the pictures. Especially the dogs. I can't imagine how overwhelmed the little dog must feel just stepping out your front door! LOL

Have a good week and enjoy that snow for this Florida girl. *sigh*

I love those pics. The first one really showed how high the snow was...is.
That snow-cream looks good....so does the chili. I'll be looking out the back door so that when you bring some by you won't need to get out of the car and trudge through the snow. No...really...no problem. It's the least I can do.
More snow on the way!!

Chili and snow days just go together hand in hand.

What is snow cream? I have never heard of that.
